This training programme focuses on strengthening the societal and policy relevance of scientific research in response to funder, institutional, and public expectations.

Participants develop the skills required to design and articulate research impact, translate scientific results into policy-relevant language, and build credible science-to-policy pathways. The programme addresses impact planning, stakeholder engagement, alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the preparation of strong impact, dissemination, and communication sections in competitive research proposals.

Through practical examples and applied exercises, participants learn how to avoid common weaknesses that lead to proposal rejection and how to position research outcomes for uptake by policymakers, institutions, and society. This course is intended as an advanced, optional training for experienced researchers and project leaders involved in strategic project development and coordination.
